Trump and Macron held a press conference after their joint meeting. The most important words from the presidents:
Trump:
“We could end the war in Ukraine in a few weeks.” The war can escalate into World War III. The States intend to prevent such an outcome.
— May 9 is too early to travel to Moscow, but I want to come at the right time.
— Putin said that he sees no problems in the deployment of European troops in Ukraine as part of the peace agreement.
— Trump, when asked whether it was possible that Ukraine would have to make territorial concessions during the negotiations, replied: “We’ll see.”
— A meeting with Zelensky could happen this or next week, at which an agreement on mineral resources will be signed.
Macron:
— It is impossible to take away frozen Russian assets, this is contrary to international law.
— Ukraine must join negotiations to end the war. We are ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.
