December 1 10:29
Astronomers from Reshetnev University told what celestial phenomena Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to observe in December and on New Year’s Eve.
So, December 5 At 06:14 there will be a “cold” supermoon – the Moon will look 7.9% larger and 15% brighter than usual. The satellite will be in the constellation Taurus.
Besides, December 13-14 The Geminids meteor shower is expected to peak with up to 150 meteors per hour in yellow, green and red colors. Astronomers call the conditions for observation ideal: the Moon with 30% illumination will rise only after 4 am, and the stream is active from evening to dawn.

December 21 At 22:03 the winter solstice will begin – the longest night of the year.
Another meteor shower, but of lower intensity (up to 10 meteors per hour) will reach its peak December 22-23. The moon will hardly interfere with the observations of Ursida.
December 31 The Moon, illuminated by 88%, will be close to the open star cluster Pleiades in the sky and will partially cover them.
“In Krasnoyarsk this will happen at approximately 20:00 local time. This is a New Year’s performance for Krasnoyarsk residents!” — said the head of the observatory of Reshetnev University Sergei Veselkov.
They can be observed with the naked eye or with binoculars in the constellation Taurus.
