The White House has published a media “hall of shame.” What is it and who is in it?

As of November 29, more than 20 publications and television channels were named. Among them are leading American and international publications, in particular CBS News, The Boston Globe, The Independent, MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times, Politico, The Wall Street Journal, BBC and others.

The White House called its list the Hall of Shame. It lists in tabular form media names, publications or stories that the Trump administration did not like, and an explanation of why a particular material was included on the list. For example, due to distortion, omission of context, bias, lies, “leftist madness”, negligence, etc.

The page also contains a table of “leaders” – “race to the bottom” and a rating of “serial offenders” who “not just make mistakes, but do it again and again.”

Context

Trump's conflicts with journalists are not isolated. There have been several of these in recent weeks alone.

On November 14, Trump called Bloomberg journalist Catherine Luce a “pig” after she asked why he did not want to release the rest of the files of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt commented on the case, noting that the president is “very open and honest with everyone” and that this is one of the reasons why he was re-elected.

On November 26, Trump responded to The New York Times' November 25 report on his age, health and fatigue, calling the newspaper “a cheap rag that is the real enemy of the people” and the article's author, Cathy Rogers, “ugly inside and out.”

On November 27, Trump called a journalist stupid who asked why he considered his predecessor Joe Biden to be guilty of the fact that some migrants from Afghanistan were not tested in the States.
