Cătălin Cîrjan, after bringing victory to Dinamo with Oțelul: “Everyone was talking about my game. I needed to score”

“It was a difficult game. We expected to play an aggressive team, very good, which defends very well. We had a good first half, we created some chances. In the second half we knew how to suffer as a team, we didn't have as good a half, but we stayed well on the pitch.

Unfortunately we didn't score on those counter-attacks, but I'm happy to get the 3 points and to score. I think it's the first headed goal in the prosI probably scored like that when I was little.

I felt a little something in my calf, but I wanted to play until the end, give everything and get the 3 points. Yes, I felt the need to writebecause the last matches… Some were good, others less so, but I was missing the goal.

There was a lot of pressure on me, everyone said I was in a bad pass, everyone was talking about my game, but I would like to say that Dinamo does not only mean Cîrjan. It means the whole team, the supporters. We don't have to look only at my game, but I'm glad that tonight it worked out for me and I was able to help my team.

As the match ended, the supporters sang “Dinamo beats the Star”. I'm thinking there, but we still have a very important period in the Cup. We want to go to Constanța, win and go further in the Cup”, said the Dynamo midfielder to PrimaSport.

Asked afterwards about his team's title chancesCîrjan answered:

“Yes, the fans dream, I've seen a lot of people say that. I say we have to keep our feet on the ground, work, take it game by game and we'll see, in the play-offs everything will be played.”
