Gigi Becali, the boss of FCSB, announced that he will no longer rely on Joyskim Dawa. The centre-back suffered a cruciate ligament tear in March and is expected to return to action in January 2026.

Due to the seriousness of the player's injury, Becali assumes that the Cameroonian stopper will hardly return to the form of last season. Dawa should be able to play from January. Those at FCSB do not want to risk a relapse, so they decided not to send him to the field this end of the year.

Gigi Becali: “Dawa is coming back, but let's see how he comes back”

“Mihai Popescu and Dawa are both almost ready. Dawa is coming back, but due to the injury he had, we no longer rely on him. He is coming back, but let's see how he comes backGigi Becali declared, according to digisport.ro.

Mihai Popescu also suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. He was injured in October, during Romania's victory over Austria, 1-0. The stopper will not play again this season, and at the end of the season his contract expires. Becali has announced in the past that it will not give him the extension.

In this end of the year, FCSB relies on Ngezana, Graovac and Ionuț Cercel for the central defender position. The Romanian champion would have already transferred Andre Duarte, the stopper left free after the separation from Ujpest, as announced by Mihai Stoica.

In addition to the Portuguese, those from FCSB would like to transfer another central defender. Becali gave a mission to Mihai Stoica to find players abroad.
