Midfielder Denys Garmash (35 years old), who was registered with Dynamo Kyiv between 2007 and 2023, was drafted into the Ukrainian army.
Denys Garmash was registered at Lisne, a team that was relegated to the second league of Ukraine due to financial problems. He will defend his country, after being detained by the National Police.

The Ukrainians from sport.ua claim that on the night of November 27 to 28, Garmash was detained by the police and taken to the district, being later mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“To prevent the spread of distorted information, we inform you that the National Police handed over former football player Denys Garmash to RTCC Pechersk and SP Kyiv for data clarification. He did not oppose the recruitment.
After passing the military medical examination and communicating with recruiters, he chose to serve in one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. No complaint has been received regarding the illegal actions of the military from the territorial recruitment and social assistance center,” the statement issued by the authorities said.
Information also appeared in the public space according to which Garmash would have tried to offer a bribe worth 25,000 euros to escape mobilization. The information was not confirmed by Commander Silenko.

“He was brought to us by representatives of the National Police. We do not know exactly how the detention took place. He was not wanted. He also had no deferment from military service during mobilization, no reserve. I mean, everything happened within the framework of the current legislation.
I have not recorded such facts. If he or someone else confirmed the facts that such a case really took place – that there were requests or other illegal actions, please contact the law enforcement authorities and provide materials for a comprehensive investigation of this fact,” said Silenko, according to the quoted source.
Garmash played 31 matches for Ukraine. He scored twice.
