VIDEO. Adrian Mazilu also tells GSP.ro about the recovery process he is going through: “I feel better and better!”

– Hello, Adrian! How is your recovery at the moment?
– Recovery is going very well. I managed to get in with the team, do my first training sessions and, little by little, I feel better and better.

– At what stage of recovery are you?
I say that I am fully recovered, only that I still have to improve on the physical side, because there I still have a little to suffer, so to speak. And, little by little, through training, I say that it will be better with the physical condition as well.

– You were at the match with Botoșani, in the group. Have you settled in a bit?
– Yes, I felt this long period of time, I felt this departure with the team, this camp, and it suited me very well, because I integrated into the team quite well.

– Do you have an estimated date for the debut? Will you be playing a game this year?
At the moment I don't know anything, I think it depends only on me how I will feel in training and it also depends on the mystery how it will feel.

– Mentally, how hard was this period for you?
– It was quite hard. As I said in other interviews, I suffered, but I easily got over that part and I'm happy to be back on the pitch.

– How do you keep your spirits up during the recovery period?
– Because we, as professional athletes, think that's all we have in our heads: we have to do our job. And when you go to recovery you don't have to think about whether you should do it or not, you just go and do it.

– What is the biggest challenge when you are injured: physical or mental?
– I think both sides seem equal to me, but sometimes it's more physical, because you go there and feel like you can't do it anymore. That's when the mind comes in and you have to get it in your head that you will manage to get through this period well.

While waiting for his debut at Dinamo, Mazilu said what he missed the most: “It's the most beautiful thing!”

– What part of the game do you feel you miss the most?
I think the goal side, because if I'm a striker I like to score goals and when I feel the fans, when I score, I think it's the most beautiful thing. But also to be on the field, that's what I really wanted.

– What was the hardest moment of recovery?
– I think the first months were the hardest, when you had to sit on crutches or you had to do many things by yourself and you had to do them with the help of crutches or stay in bed. I think that was the hardest time. After, easy-easy, you could walk, you could go to recover, and that lifted your spirits.

– What advice did you get from your coach, Zeliko Kopic, and how would you describe it?
– I got some great advice. I can tell they are more confidential because I keep them to myself. And I know him as an extraordinary man and, more and more, day by day in training, he helps me a lot.

The former footballer from Farul, Brighton and Vitesse has not played an official match since April 2024, 8 minutes in a match with NEC Nijmegen.

Adrian Mazilu signed a contract with Dinamo valid until July 2029, with an option to extend it for another competitive season.
