The authorities informed on Friday, November 28, that police officers from Snagov saw that the troitsa, where former legionnaire leader Corneliu Zelea Codreanu was commemorated, although such demonstrations are prohibited by law, was cut down.

“At this moment, the police officers have notified themselves ex officio and are carrying out activities, to accurately establish all the circumstances in which the event took place. The investigations are being continued by the police regarding the commission of the crime of destruction, the criminal prosecution being under the supervision of a case prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Buftea Court”, IPJ Ilfov said.

Images were also posted on Facebook by the researcher at the National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania “Elie Wiesel”, Adina Marincea.

The incident took place a few days before the legionary commemoration that takes place in Tâncăbești.

Last year, on the night of November 30 – December 1, 2024, several people, including the president of SOS, Diana Şoşoacă, commemorated Codreanu in the same place, with a religious service, legionary songs and the Nazi salute, prohibited by law. more people

Sosoacă said then that it is 86 years since the legionnaire leader was killed, whom he considers a patriot: “It is my right to consider whoever I want a patriot.”

Later, seven people were placed under judicial control for using fascist, legionnaire, racist or xenophobic symbols.

The troița from Tâncăbesti was erected in the place where the legionnaire Corneliu Zelea Codreanu is commemorated, killed in the local forest on November 30, 1938.
