Deratization activities in the region will take place from December 15 to 21. The corresponding decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the sanitary and anti-epidemic commission of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, said Legislative Assembly deputy Ilya Zaitsev.
During the meeting, the head of the regional Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor, Dmitry Goryaev, reported that in 2025 the number of requests to the agency with complaints about rodents had tripled. According to the chief sanitary doctor of the region, today a significant part of the buildings in Krasnoyarsk is inhabited by rats – targeted measures to combat rats do not have the desired effect.
Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergei Vereshchagin separately focused on the problems with the removal of solid waste, noting that these are interconnected issues – undeveloped garbage sites and untimely waste removal – provide a food supply for rodents. The regional authorities are taking measures to support local governments, including Krasnoyarsk. Events for the regional capital are actively underway this year and will continue next year. But without the proper work of regional operators, these measures are not always effective.
“As I already wrote, deratization in a separate place does not lead to a solution to the problem, but to the migration of rats to another place. This is one of the proposals that I sent to the supervising deputy head of the city on November 18. The document also talked about coordinating efforts to combat rodents,” Ilya Zaitsev commented on the situation in his telegram.
By the decision of the commission, regional operators were recommended to ensure timely removal of solid municipal waste, avoiding overfilling of garbage containers, but at least once a day at an average daily outdoor temperature of plus 5°C and above, and at least once every 3 days at plus 4°C and below.
