Nightmare images at the Constanța and Focșani Christmas Markets: teddy bears hanging from blocks or “impaled”

The Christmas market in Piața Ovidiu in Constanta offers nightmarish images, with teddy bears hanging from the walls of a block of flats. The same thing was noticed in Focșani.

The municipality of Constanța has turned Christmas into an experiment that looks more like something out of a bad movie.
The Christmas market in Piața Ovidiu has all the ingredients to be the worst event of its kind in Romania. On a gray block, with cracked walls and clothes hanging out to dry, about 30 teddy bears were “hanged” which scares everyone more than brightens the atmosphere.

The authorities probably wanted to copy a model from a European country, Strasbourg, where plushies and winter decorations invite you to enter the festive atmosphere, but the end result was that Christmas decorations in Constanța are grotesquely kitsch, as people say.

“Very nice! Clothes out to dry, fallen plaster and the icing on the cake, bears climbing the building! They could have covered it with green netting and then the bears were hanging! But….”a woman from Constanța commented on the image.
The Christmas market in Piața Ovidiu is organized by White Car Line SRL, a company from Bucharest, which has also held other events in the city.
Kitsch and in Focșani
And in Focșani, the authorities were criticized for the way they organized the Christmas Fair.
“I hope with all my heart that Focșani City Hall will convince the economic operator operating in the city center to take down the ultra dirty and shabby teddy bears and not to promote mess and ultra dirty hanged toys during these holidays! What I saw today is embarrassing!”wrote a woman from Focșani outraged by what she saw in Piata Unirii.
“If you hate your children and want to traumatize them for life, bring them to spend Christmas in Focșani! We have teddy bears impaled plus some unimaginably hideous glittery creatures. Did we pay for these “decorations” or did some county that had them in cellars from the 80s throw them at us. Let me know when the festive atmosphere is over until January/February I won't walk through Piata Unirii anymore”another person in town commented.
