The judges at the Vaslui Court ordered, on Friday, the extension of the preventive arrest for another 30 days of the businessman Fănel Bogos and three other defendants, accused of having supported the millionaire from Vaslui in the attempt to change him from his position as the director of DSVSA. The court's decision is not final.
The DNA accuses the four of influence buying, influence peddling, blackmail and bribery.
Fănel Bogos has been in pretrial detention since November 6. Both at the trial of the first arrest proposal and at the extension, he requested the judge of the rights of liberties for a milder preventive measure, reasoning that the deprivation of liberty could lead to the collapse of businesses, and almost 1,000 people would be out of a job. The judges dismissed Bogos' request as without merit.
The Vaslui court extended the measure of preventive arrest until January 4, according to the court minutes. The decision is not final.
Bogos' meeting with Prime Minister Bolojan
Bogos is accused by the DNA of having appealed to influence networks that “reached the level of decision-making factors in the central administration”, trying to get the management of DSVSA Vaslui changed with people “who illegally promote financial interests”.
The businessman even reached Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan after the head of PNL Vaslui, Mihai Barbu, got him an audience. Barbu is also investigated in the case, being placed under judicial control.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan told Digi 24 that the meeting with Vaslui businessman Fănel Bogos lasted around “15 minutes” and was one in which “absolutely nothing happened”.
Former generals and secret service officers targeted in the case
Prosecutors say Fanel Bogos was aided in his endeavor by former generals and secret service officers. SIE reserve general Nicolae Iana (reserved in 2003), former DNA military prosecutor Vasile Doană and two SRI reservists are also targeted by DNA prosecutors in the case of Fanel Bogos.
The other three defendants in the file, Laura Iusein, a businesswoman from Brăila, a close relative of hers – Cristea Rareș – and Mihail Aniței, who claimed to be a “man from the services” received over 500,000 euros paid by Fănel Bogos, through consulting contracts, DNA accuses, so that they could intervene with people from the management of ANSVSA in order to favor Bogos's company.
Mihail Aniței presented himself as part of a secret structure of the Ministry of Justice, according to the interceptions in the file. He assured Bogos that he has influence over high-ranking state officials and political leaders and that he will cause the ANSVSA management to replace the director of DSVSA Vaslui, Mihai Ponea.
