An ancient Roman dam, built about 2 thousand years ago, saved a Spanish city from flooding
A 34-meter dam saved residents of the municipality of Almonacid de la Cuba in the Spanish province of Zaragoza from flooding. A structure built in the second half of the 1st century AD. under Emperor Augustus, it diverted the flow of water away from the populated area.
According to the latest data, at least 214 people have already become victims of flooding in Spain. More than 200 people are missing.
