A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory tried to illegally sell wild birds

In Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, police stopped the illegal sale of several wild birds.
Investigators learned that a 40-year-old local resident was trying to sell a falcon for 60 thousand rubles, which is presumably listed in the Red Book and is protected by law.
“It turned out that the woman kept a whole aviary: in addition to the falcon, she had two owls, a honey buzzer and a gray crane. Birds were brought to her by townspeople who knew that she was treating animals. But instead of transferring her charges to the Wildlife Conservation Center, she kept them with her, and when keeping the birds became too expensive, she decided to monetize the situation,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Law enforcement officers seized the birds, and they are now under the care of specialists from the Yenisei interregional department of Rosprirodnadzor.
Ornithologists are checking whether the falcon is indeed a Red List peregrine falcon. Based on the results, a procedural decision will be made.
