American President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that South Africa will not be invited to next year's G20 summit that he will host in Miami, moving to a new level in his diplomatic offensive against this country, reports News.ro.

“South Africa has shown the world that it is a country worthy of being a member of nothing,” the American president wrote on his Truth Social network, repeating the accusations regarding an alleged persecution of white South African farmers.

Donald Trump boycotted the G20 summit that just took place in Johannesburg and which took place without any official American participation. Under these conditions, the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, refused to officially transfer the presidency of the G20 to the next host country, i.e. the United States, as is customary.

The South African government has been the target of the American president's criticism since his return to the White House, especially regarding an alleged “genocide” of the Afrikaners, the descendants of the first European settlers.

In May, at the White House, Donald Trump laid a real ambush for Cyril Ramaphosa, showing him a video full of errors that was supposed to prove his accusations, rejected by South Africa.

The G20 summit, a format that brings together the world's 20 most important economies, is to be held in December 2026 in a golf complex belonging to the American president's family, “Trump National Doral Miami”, in Florida, in the south of the USA.

Group of 20 leaders on Saturday adopted a declaration on the climate crisis and other global challenges despite US objections, prompting the White House to accuse South Africa of using the group's leadership position as a weapon this year.

“At the conclusion of the G20 summit, South Africa refused to hand over the G20 presidency to a senior representative of our US embassy who attended the closing ceremony,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “Therefore, at my direction, South Africa will NOT receive an invitation to the 2026 G20 summit to be hosted next year in the great city of Miami, Florida,” he said.
