In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, they have begun introducing age verification technology using a digital ID in the national messenger MAX, the press service of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Trade reported.
The technology allows customers purchasing age-restricted products to verify their age using a QR code in the MAX app. Only the necessary information is transmitted to the seller without displaying full passport information. Stores of the Magnit and Pyaterochka retail chains have already connected to the system.
“The introduction of digital ID is an important step in the digitalization of the consumer market. The technology will not only make the purchasing process easier for residents, but will also improve compliance. Work in this direction will continue – we plan to maximize the number of participants in the system,” said Maxim Ermakov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
To use this function, you must have the latest versions of the State Services and MAX applications on your phone, and then create a digital ID in your messenger profile. The procedure will take a few minutes. The ministry noted that it meets all information security requirements.
All retail chains and stores can join this project. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to provide assistance and advise those interested by phone: 8 (391) 222-50-74.
Work on introducing age verification technology using digital ID in the national messenger MAX is carried out on behalf of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin and in accordance with the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
