The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) on November 29, 1935 wrote about a healing spring in the village of Ventselevo. The article tells that after the first mention of the “medicinal” activity of the miller Matvey Leskov, when patients with rheumatism and eczema came to him, and these diseases were cured by “magic water” in the well, which was located in the mill. There are many examples of people being healed:

“The rumor about the healing properties of the spring quickly spread throughout the region. They often brought seriously ill people unable to move. Many people were successfully cured of rheumatism, eczema and other chronic inflammations. Baranova from Nagibovo herself could not move. After the third bath, she walked on her own. Tractor driver Bannikov Innokenty from Nagibovo was bedridden. After seven baths he recovered and is working safely. We got rid of all eczema bodies of Glebenkova Olga and Kolobova Lyubov, having taken seven baths each, Druzhinina (from Bidzhan) was cured of an inflammatory tumor of the pelvic organs after several baths. Among all the patients who passed through the water of the source in 10 years, about a thousand people.

The analysis of water from this source is described:

“The water of the source, upon examination, showed that it contains the same chemical compounds as the Kuldur springs, but unlike the latter, the water of the Ventselevsky spring is cold. We undoubtedly have in Ventselevo a most valuable source for the treatment of rheumatism, eczema and other chronic diseases. What is the practical conclusion for the regional health department? It is necessary to organize a hospital in the village of Ventselevo for the treatment of patients with rheumatism, eczema and other chronic diseases.”
