The Minister of Education, Daniel David, stated, on Wednesday, that special attention will be paid to the education sector, when the rules of banning pension-salary cumulation will be applied, so that teaching staff are not affected. He explained that, in many situations, retired teachers are the ones who help cover the hours, informs News.ro.

Daniel David was asked, on Wednesday, in a discussion with the citizens on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Education, if the ban on pension-salary cumulation will also have an impact on education.

“As the prime minister also said, we will be careful that in the area of education the pension-salary combination does not affect the teaching staff, because we know that in many situations practically retired teachers are the ones who help us cover our hours. They do not take from the hours of other younger people, but we do not have enough human resources, we do not have enough people to cover these hours. So I do not see it as a problem”, declared Daniel David.

He was also asked if a new increase in the didactic norm is being discussed.

“There is no discussion of such a thing. The increase has been made. At this moment, as I said, we must stabilize, develop in the system. There is no longer a question of an increase in teaching standards”, the Minister of Education also declared.

The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, states that no decision has been taken in the coalition on the pension-salary cumulation project, pointing out that it will either be caught as part of a future employment liability, or it will be sent as a draft law.

Grindeanu mentioned that no one wants there to be exceptions to this and that he asked the Minister of Labor to eliminate all exceptions.
