However, as recalled by the Financial Times, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has already signaled that Russia will reject the modified peace plan if it does not take into account its long-standing demands. The 28-point US peace plan presented to Zelensky last week was considered to play too much into Russia's hands, and as a result of the talks held over the weekend, it was modified.
Lavrov said Tuesday that if the plan “erases … key agreements” that Russian leader Vladimir Putin believed had been reached during his August meeting with Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, “the situation will fundamentally change.”
— After Anchorage, when we thought these arrangements had already been formalized, there was a long pause. Now this break has been broken by the introduction of this document (…). A whole series of issues, of course, requires clarification, Lavrov said, adding that nothing has been officially presented to Russia yet.

Putin then emphasized that an agreement would not be possible unless the “main causes” of the conflict were taken into account, i.e. – according to him – the change of the regime in Kiev, the end of NATO expansion and the supply of weapons from the West to Ukraine.
