Katarzyna Majewska is to take the position of the President of PZU Życie


“As a result of the recruitment process, the Supervisory Board of PZU Życie SA on June 16 this year decided to include Katarzyna Majewska in the company's management board and entrusting her as president of the board, while taking over this role requires the consent of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority” – we read in the company's statement.
Until the formal approval by the PFSA, Katarzyna Majewska will perform the function acting as president as part of the competences provided for by law.

PZU Życie also emphasized that Katarzyna Majewska is an experienced manager with many years of achievements in the financial sector. In the years 1999–2008 she was associated with Bank Handlowy (currently Citi Handlowy)and then – from 2008 to 2015 – she was the managing director in PZU, where she was responsible for the optimization of processes and had a significant participation in one of the largest reorganization of companies with the participation of the Treasury.
In the years 2016–2025 she held the position of Vice President of the Management Board of Bank Handlowy in Warsaw (parts of the Citigroup group), responsible for operations and technologies.
She returned to the structures of the PZU Group at the beginning of June this year. As the company informs, The new president graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics and Harvard Business Schooland also has the title of MBA captured in Rotterdam School of Management. In the years 2017–2021 she sat as a vice -chairman of the Cyber security forum at the Polish Bank Association. For her merits for the banking sector, she was awarded the medal for the long -term service granted by the President of the Republic of Poland (September 2022) and the medal of Nicolaus Copernicus from the Polish Bank Association (2023).
