Gustavo played for the last time in Iran, at Gol Gahar Sirjan. On Monday, Craiova University announced through a video published on social networks that the former footballer will be present at Oblemenco on Thursday to support his former team.
“Hello, Gustavo here. I'm on my way to Craiova, as you know, I retired from my playing career. I want to greet you. See you in the “volcano” on the 27th, let's support the team together in the Conference League”, said Gustavo.
Salerno, GO Audax, Novara, Salernitana, Lecce, Messina, Craiova, Liaoning, Ajman, Tractor and Gol Gahar Sirjan are the clubs that Gustavo played for throughout his career.
Gustavo arrived in Craiova free of contract in 2016. In the first season, the Brazilian scored 5 goals and provided an assist in 24 matches. In his second season, the Brazilian scored 11 goals and managed two assists in 32 appearances. In the same season he also won the Romanian Cup.
A then went to China, to Liaoning, for the sum of 850,000 euros, but he returned to Craiova in March 2020, free of contract.
After 6 matches and a successful goal, Gustavo was loaned to Ajman, in the United Arab Emirates, and then returned to Craiova for which he scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in 36 matches, in the 2021-2022 season, in which he also won the Romanian Cup.
