“Our energy system is in a very difficult situation, we must do everything possible, including diplomatic tools, to receive all possible assistance so that we reduce the suffering of people that has been going on for four years. We take this seriously and therefore ask our colleagues and allies to provide more equipment, used, new. We are consolidating all our efforts to cope with this challenge,” Timchenko said.
He described how intensively the company was preparing for winter, but Russia intensified its massive attacks on the energy system. According to him, they have been especially destructive in the last five weeks.
“The Russians are attacking everything: coal mines, gas infrastructure, power plants, electrical networks, especially in regions close to the front line,” added the head of DTEK.
He emphasized that, despite the war, the company continues to invest in Ukraine and build new facilities, such as wind power plants and energy storage systems.
