Rospotrebnadzor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory told about sanitary rules for carrying out manicure and pedicure in beauty salons.

Experts advise paying attention to the following when visiting a manicurist and pedicurist:

• The office is clean, good combined lighting (general + local).
• Work furniture should be easy to wash and treat with detergents and disinfectants. If the surface is peeling, cracked, or not at all suitable for wet cleaning, this is an alarming signal.
• Disposable wipes are used for each client—no “reusable towels.”
• All manipulations that can damage the skin are carried out by the master: wearing rubber gloves and only with disposable or sterile instruments, which must go through a full cycle: disinfection in a disinfectant solution – pre-sterilization cleaning and then sterilization.
• Instruments and consumables are sterilized in packaged form in sterilizers. Store in packaging indicating the date of sterilization. Unpackaged instruments should be used within an hour after sterilization.
• All disinfectant solutions must have documents confirming their safety and state registration. You can ask to see them.
• To serve one client, one technician must have at least three sets of tools or replaceable disposable items. The same tool for everyone “in a circle” is unacceptable.

Pedicure room:

• Minimum 2 foot baths with hot and cold water supply. The bath is disinfected after each client. If there is only one bath, then the master must use disposable liners. Exception: During a hardware pedicure, water is not required, so a bath may be absent.
• There must be a hand sink.
• The client's foot pillow must have an oilcloth cover, which is disinfected after each use.

Rospotrebnadzor recommends choosing salons where the masters strictly follow all the rules.
