When the New Year is already upon us, the same annual question arises – what kind of Christmas tree to put up: “live” or artificial? In order not to make a bad choice, we have compiled a list of pros and cons of the main New Year's decoration. Who will win this “green” confrontation is up to you to decide.
Live Christmas tree
The main advantage of a living tree over an artificial one is the smell of pine needles. It is for this reason that many people choose a “real” Christmas tree: to make the house smell like a forest. But why else?
Pros:
1. Natural aroma. As we have already said, not a single artificial tree can convey the “natural” smell of pine needles, and not a single aroma diffuser can replace it;
2. Feeling of holiday x2. Whatever one may say, the New Year's mood appears more when there is a “real” Christmas tree in the house. This special aroma for the whole house, “live” needles, caring for the tree – isn’t it great?
Cons:
1. Proper care. A “living” Christmas tree, like indoor plants, needs care. Therefore, with the appearance of a coniferous beauty, you need to make sure that it does not dry out and add water;
2. Dropping of needles. This awaits all owners of a “living” Christmas tree – after a couple of weeks, the needles will begin to actively fall off. They will be everywhere: on all surfaces, clothes, in different parts of the house. You need to be especially careful if you have pets at home – make sure that your pets do not chew the pine needles. Please note that if care is not followed, the Christmas tree will begin to crumble within a few days.
3. Cannot be folded. If you live in an apartment and you want a tree 3 meters high, this may be a problem. Getting her home is one thing. But, delivering it to the apartment, and without damaging the needles, is completely different.

Artificial Christmas tree
Modern artificial Christmas trees have long ceased to be a “plastic parody”. Now they look so realistic that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish them from the real ones, and there is less hassle with it.
Pros:
1. I bought it once and it lasts for many years. It is economical, convenient and practical. The main thing is to store it correctly so that it does not fade from the sun;
2. Doesn't crumble. No needles all over the house;
3. Does not require maintenance. Artificial Christmas trees do not need to be kept in water; they do not dry out due to its absence;
4. Diverse selection. White, snow-covered, with cones, multi-colored – you can choose a Christmas tree to suit any interior. Whichever one you want!
5. Can be folded. As a rule, artificial Christmas trees are disassembled and assembled by branches, which is convenient when transporting from one place to another.
Cons:
1. There is no smell of pine needles. Sometimes you really want to feel that very aroma of the forest, but alas;
2. Not environmentally friendly. Even if you've been using it for many years, plastic disposal is still a problem.
Which Christmas tree to choose is up to you. Consider all the pros and cons to make sure you don’t make a mistake with your purchase.
