Two bloody attacks on drivers: 60-year-old taxi driver killed in Mioveni. BOLT driver seriously injured in Suceava, in a dispute over 2 lei

Two violent attacks on drivers took place on Friday evening in Romania: a taxi driver was killed in Mioveni, and a BOLT driver injured in Suceava after a dispute over the price of a ride.

A 21-year-old man from Davideşti commune is the main suspect in the case of the taxi driver killed Friday evening in Mioveni, Argeş county. The police managed to identify him and catch him after several hours of searching, the suspect having already been taken to the hearings.

“Following the investigative-operative activities carried out by the police from Argesa, a young man, 21 years old, from the commune of Davideşti, was found, suspected of committing the act”announced IPJ Argeş in the night from Friday to Saturday. The authorities stated that the suspect was taken to the police headquarters to be questioned in connection with the attack.

The case is coordinated by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Argeş Court, who investigates the circumstances of the crime, the possible reasons and other aspects that can clarify the situation.

“Furthermore, under the coordination of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Argeş Court, investigations are being carried out to establish the circumstances in which the incident occurred and to order legal measures”the representatives of IPJ Argeş sent.

The incident took place around 21:45. The police from Mioveni were alerted by a call to 112, which indicated that a 60-year-old man from Albota, a taxi driver, had been stabbed. When the medical crews arrived, the victim was unconscious, with multiple injuries.

Despite the resuscitation maneuvers performed by the medical staff, unfortunately the man was declared dead”informed, on Friday evening, the Argeş County Police Inspectorate.

Despite prolonged resuscitation maneuvers, doctors failed to save the man's life, according to local media.

The crime scene was immediately secured by the police, who collected evidence, interviewed witnesses and analyzed surveillance camera images to reconstruct the event.

Also, checks were carried out to identify the route of the taxi ride and any persons involved.

Even if the suspect was caught, the investigation continues to establish the reason for the attack, if the victim and the aggressor knew each other and if other people were involved.

BOLT driver stabbed in a dispute over 2 lei

On Friday evening, around 10:15 p.m., the Suceava Municipality Police was alerted to an assault in the George Enescu neighborhood. The crew sent to the scene found that a 17-year-old young man from Dumbrăveni commune, a customer of a ride-sharing transport, had an altercation with the 21-year-old driver from Păltinoasa. The conflict would have started from the price of the ride, which was 9 lei, the young man offering only 7 lei.

During the altercation, the teenager used a sharp object, causing injuries to the driver's arm and leg.

The aggressor was immobilized and taken over by the police, and the victim was transported to the medical facility for treatment.

The case was taken over by the Suceava Criminal Investigation Bureau, and the authorities are continuing the checks to establish all the circumstances and take legal measures.
