Senior officials from the United States, Ukraine and Europe are due to meet in Geneva, Switzerland on Sunday to discuss the Donald Trump administration's proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine. From the US side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff will come.
The national security advisors of the leaders of France, Germany and Great Britain will meet with their counterparts from the United States and Ukraine, Sunday morning, in Geneva, to discuss the American plan for ending the war started by Russia in Ukraine, according to concordant sources cited by the France Presse agency.
“The adviser to the French president (Emmanuel Macron) will go to Geneva tomorrow together with his counterparts from “E3″ (Germany, France and Great Britain)”, one of the sources indicated to AFP.
“The discussions will take place between the United States, the representatives of “E3″ and the Ukrainians,” said another source.
Rubio and Witkoff, sent to Geneva
A US official confirmed to Agence France Presse on Saturday evening that both US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump's diplomatic envoy Steve Witkoff are to arrive in Geneva on Sunday to discuss the Trump Administration's plan to end the war with the Ukrainians.
The official quoted by AFP also stated that the Secretary of the American Army, Daniel Driscoll, who was received in Kiev on Thursday by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, already arrived in the Swiss city on Saturday.

Who else is attending the meeting?

Diplomatic sources said Fabrizio Saggio will represent Italy.
A senior official in Kiev had previously announced that Ukraine would soon hold “consultations” with the United States in Switzerland to discuss President Trump's plan to end the war with Russia.
“In the coming days, we will launch consultations in Switzerland between senior Ukrainian and American officials regarding the possible parameters of a future peace agreement,” Rustem Umerov, the head of Ukraine's Security Council, said on Facebook.

Zelensky established the Ukrainian delegation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on Saturday establishing the delegation that will be responsible for participating “in the process of negotiations with the United States and other international partners of Ukraine, as well as with representatives of Russia.”
According to the decree, the delegation will be led by Zelenskiy's right-hand man, the head of the presidential chancellery, Andrii Iermak, and will include, among others, Rustem Umerov, the heads of the security and intelligence services and the chief of the General Staff. It will be an essentially military delegation.
On Friday, Zelenski rejected the American plan to end the nearly four years of Russian invasion and said he would try to suggest alternative solutions to Washington. The text is viewed with concern in Kiev, as it reiterates several major demands formulated by Russia.
The plan includes territorial concessions from Ukraine and a reduction in the size of its army, but also offers Western security guarantees for Kiev.
European leaders, common reaction to the US plan
The US plan for Ukraine needs “further work”, 11 leaders, mostly European, said in a joint statement on Saturday after a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in South Africa.
The 28-point plan proposed by Washington “is a foundation that will need additional work,” the leaders said in a statement, saying they were “concerned about the proposed limitations on the Ukrainian armed forces, which would leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attacks.”
The declaration is signed by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, Presidents Emanuel Macron (France) and Alexander Stubb (Finland), Prime Ministers Mark Carney (Canada), Micheal Martin (Ireland), Giorgia Meloni (Italy), Sanae Takaichi (Japan), Dick Schoof (Netherlands), Pedro Sanchez (Spain), Keir Starmer (Great Britain) and Jonas Gahr Støre (Norway).
They say in the statement that the American proposal “includes important elements that will be essential for a just and lasting peace”, but reiterates “the principle that borders should not be changed by force”.
They also insist that elements of the plan aimed at the EU and NATO need the “consent of their members”. In addition, they say they want “to continue to coordinate closely with Ukraine and the United States in the coming days.”
