“Russia is spreading its aggression to other countries in the region”
— On November 15-16, two acts of sabotage took place against the Polish railway infrastructure, including the blowing up of a section of tracks on the Warsaw-Lublin route, which is crucial for the delivery of aid, including UN aid, to Ukraine. According to the investigation, these were deliberate actions aimed at causing a train disaster. The lives of many people were threatened. These were the most serious acts of sabotage against Poland since the beginning of Russia's wide-scale aggression against Ukraine. – said the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland.
— Fortunately, the tragedy was prevented, but another boundary was crossed. These actions demonstrate how Russia is spreading its aggression to other countries in the region – he emphasized.
Szczerski noted that the suspects are Ukrainian citizens, one of whom was convicted in May of sabotage in Ukraine on behalf of the Russian services. — As expected, incidents follow Russian propaganda and disinformation — behavior that we witness all too often in this chamber. Russian media are trying to present sabotage as a Ukrainian provocation, the ambassador added.
Ambassador to the UN: Poland will continue to support Ukraine
Szczerski stated that Russia's actions are contrary to US initiatives for peace in Ukraine, Russia “consistently chooses war over peace.” — For the selfish elites in the Kremlin, the huge loss of life – even among Russian soldiers – and the deepening economic crisis in the country do not matter.
The Polish diplomat stated that Poland will continue to support Kyivstrive for a ceasefire and emphasized Poland's efforts to rebuild Ukraine. He also called on other countries to make similar efforts and tighten sanctions against Russia.
— The alternative is very bleak: the Kremlin's imperialist, neo-colonial demands would actually deprive Ukraine of its sovereignty and restore its spheres of influence. We reject the very idea of such zones. We cannot allow the aggressor to intimidate the international community said the diplomat. – And in this conflict there is only one and only aggressor and that is the Russian Federation – he added, pointing to the Kremlin representative.
