Former Golden Generation left winger Tibor Selymes (55) is ready to re-enter the coaching circuit. Installed a week ago at Poly IasiSelymes held his first press conference in his new capacity today.

The technician will make his debut on the Iași bench on Tuesday, in the match against Chindia Târgoviște, from the 14th stage of the second league, which will take place in Copou, starting at 17:00.

Tibor Selymes, the first press conference at Poli Iasi: “Six-point match”

“It's the most important game for us, a six-point game. We have to win this game. We're playing a good to very good team, which has 10-11 players with experience in the first division, with players of strength and speed up front.

But I'm interested in how my team plays. If we are mentally at the level we need to be, we can win the match, we can get good results. Even if we have problems, the guys are very responsivefocus on training, react properly. I want us to be fresh, ready to fight because it's going to be a fighting game,” said Selymes.

Selymes' goals

He presented his goals: “After the four stages this year we have to be close to the play-offs, to be there. There are four more games in the spring. After a good preparation in the winter, we can think about fighting for promotion.”

The Iași coach announced that Mike Cestor has minor medical problems and referred to another regular player, Şeroni, who was not used for good periods by the former coach, Tony:

“Şeroni is a group player, the group needs his maturity, his experience. He joined Botoșani very well, promptly, exactly what we needed.”

“There is more discussion about arrears than football”

Present at the conference, midfielder Darius Ghindovean, presented the pulse of a locker room in which salary arrears reached from month to three months:

“Mentally we are prepared to give everything on the field, the financial situation will not tear us down. In the 90 minutes on Tuesday no one will think about bills, personal things. We will play a good match. Some people have pressure behind them because they have rents.

The management is making every effort to solve this situation, which is much more complex than we think. We are only thinking about winning on Tuesday.

The atmosphere is not pleasant. In the last few months, in the dressing room it was not about football, but about money, something that brought down a lot of people. I spoke with the boys, the most important thing now is to finish in the play-offs and then all the problems will be solved”.
