A series of attacks on fans of the Israeli football club Maccabi occurred in Amsterdam after a match with local Ajax.
Unknown masked men tried to break into the hotels where the Israelis were staying, and also beat them in the street. Dozens of Maccabi fans across the city were injured.
The mayor of Amsterdam promised the Israeli side to attract police reinforcements, the Israeli permanent representative to the UN called on the Dutch authorities take “decisive action.”
