A Krasnoyarsk man received a “condition” for stealing equipment from his wife’s grandmother’s apartment

In Krasnoyarsk, a man took all the equipment out of his wife’s grandmother’s apartment and received a suspended sentence. This was reported by the press service of the regional police.

The theft was reported to the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in June of this year. The 78-year-old woman said that in September 2024 she left for another country and returned home only recently. Upon returning, the pensioner discovered that all household appliances worth a total of 852 thousand rubles had disappeared from the apartment.

Her granddaughter’s husband had the keys to the apartment so that he could check the apartment from time to time. A 32-year-old man was detained.

“During the absence of his relative, the man stole a microwave oven, a dishwasher, an oven, a range hood, a refrigerator, a chest freezer and a TV. He sold the property to a pawnshop, planning to return it later. However, he spent all the proceeds on personal needs,” the police said.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under the article “Theft”. Having considered the materials of the criminal case, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Krasnoyarsk found the man guilty and sentenced him to suspended imprisonment for a period of 1 year and 6 months. The verdict came into force.

During the investigation, part of the stolen property was found and returned to its rightful owner.
