Minister Daniel David declared, on Thursday, in Oradea, that the institution wants to unlock the posts for tenure next year, an approach he described as “priority of priorities”, reports Agerpres.

The official held a press conference at the Bihor County School Inspectorate, after a meeting with the school inspectors.

“The priority of the priorities, so to speak, is the unlocking of positions for tenure next year. Because it is an element that keeps the movement going and dynamizes the educational system,” declared Daniel David.

The Minister of Education also highlighted the importance of the two methodologies for director competitions and the selection of inspectors.

“We have to finish these two methodologies as part of the PNRR by August, but we will have to finish them faster, by the beginning of the year, to be able to do the contests, and from the fall to start with a new structure, with people in leadership positions through the contest,” he added.

What he said about the students' homework

Asked about the minister's order regarding students' homework, Daniel David said that such an order had existed since 2016, but “had to be updated, because the legislative basis has changed.”

“In principle, it refers to exactly the same things, with small nuances. And yes, I think it is very important to regulate the activity related to homework. Anyway, you saw that the regulation is a flexible one. Usually, we talk about the rule, it is indicated, it is suggested, to help the teachers and help the students as well”, the Minister of Education also declared.

He said homework must bring “added value”.

“At the end of the day, homework, if you don't enjoy doing it and if homework is not seen as bringing added value, you give it for nothing. Basically, it is not an addition to knowledge and the children also develop a negative attitude towards school,” the official added.
