“He didn't know anything.” Trump defended the Saudi crown prince, who was reminded of the murder of a journalist

Trump met with bin Salman at the White House. During a conversation with the media, an ABC News journalist asked the crown prince why Americans should trust him. She cited US intelligence that he personally approved the journalist's murder and recalled the September 11 terrorist attack, which was mainly carried out by Saudi Arabian residents.

The US President reacted sharply to this.

He said bin Salman “did a phenomenal job” and called Khashoggi “an extremely controversial gentleman who was disliked by many.”

“Do you like him? [ибн Салман] you or not – different things happen, but he knew nothing about it. And we can stop there,” Trump addressed the journalist. But after that he continued.

The US President noted that “there is no need to shame our guest with such a question,” and asked what media the journalist represents. Hearing “ABC News” respond, Trump criticized the media. “Fake news. Fake ABC news. Some of the worst in the business,” he said.
