“Grigore Cerchez” high school in Bucharest, evacuated after the smell of gas was reported

The Technological College “Grigore Cerchez” in Bucharest was evacuated on Thursday afternoon, after a smell of gas was reported in the courtyard of the unit, ISU Bucharest-Ilfov and the Capital Police reported.
According to ISU, the intervention teams made checks and measurements inside the building and outside, and the gas supply was stopped as a precaution.
The cited source stated that Distrigaz is present at the scene.
The students and staff were evacuated, without anyone claiming medical problems, the firemen also stated.
The Capital Police reported, in a statement, that Section 14 was alerted at around 2:00 p.m., by calling 112, regarding “possible gas leaks” in the college yard. The public order crews arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of the smell.
A fire truck, a CBRN truck and, in support, a SABIF ambulance were sent to the scene.
The incident takes place a few weeks after a similar alert at the “Theodor Pallady” Theoretical High School in Sector 3, where it was later found that the gas leak came from a valve located outside the unit.
