Eight people registered in the race for the headship of CJ Buzău. Who are Marcel Ciolacu's opponents

Eight candidates were validated by the County Electoral Office (BECJ) no. 10 for the partial local elections to be held on December 7.

Silviu Iordache, entrepreneur and former prefect of Buzau county, is running as an independent candidate and was validated by the BECJ, according to Agerpres.

“I know that the objective is ambitious and that it will be a tough campaign, in a county that has been red for 35 years, but I believe in the people. I believe in the people of Buzău who are tired of empty words and party promises. I think we can change the direction and make Buzău a county that works for the citizens, not for political interests,” said the independent, on the occasion of launching his candidacy.

The second validated candidacy is the proposal of the SOS Romania Party, Adrian Dogaru, followed by that of the Young People's Party (POT), Dragoș Eugen Brînzea.

“I was born, raised, educated in Buzău and for 25 years I have been from Buzău by definition. I wanted a change in 2024 and I saw in POT that opportunity to bring change and I am convinced that from Buzău change can start in all of Romania”, said Dragoș Eugen Brînzea, on the occasion of submitting his candidacy.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) proposed Ștefăniță Alin Avrămescu for the position of president of the CJ Buzău in the partial elections of December 7.

“My campaign is not against anyone, it is for Buzău. For a county that can be put on the path of development after 35 years in which it was captivated by the same political families who pass their power from generation to generation. The only real alternative to the PSD – PNL – USR coalition is us, those from AUR,” Alin Avramescu said on Facebook, on the occasion of submitting his candidacy.

The list of candidates is completed by Gheorghe Gabriel Pană, from the Conservative Action (AC), and Mihai Răzvan Moraru, the joint candidate of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Save Romania Union (USR).

“I assure the people of Buzo that, after December 7, they will see another local administration, at the CJ level,” PNL-USR candidate Mihai Răzvan Moraru said after submitting his candidacy.

The list of candidates is continued by Marcel Ciolacu, ex-prime minister of Romania, proposed to the CJ Buzău by the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

“I'm going back to where I grew up, I'm going back to the local administration, where I was from municipal councilor, county councilor, deputy mayor to interim prefect, where I know best. I was the president of the Administrative Code Commission, I know the laws very well and I want all the experience I've accumulated in these years, while I stayed longer in Bucharest and in the Legislature, together with my colleagues, with my friends, with my partners to implement for Buzau what we all want”, he sent, after submitting the candidacy, to Marcel Ciolacu.

The list is completed by Mihai Budescu, from the Greater Romania Party (PRM).

“There are eight candidates, there were no problems with the submission of candidacies, they were validated by decisions, on November 22 the electoral campaign begins. It is about Avramescu Ștefănăniță Alin from AUR, Brînzea Dragos Eugen – POT, Dogaru Adrian – SOS Romania, Iordache Silviu, independent candidate, Moraru Mihai Răzvan, PNL-USR alliance, Ciolacu Ion Marcel – PSD, Pană Gheorghe Gabriel – AC and Mihai Budescu from the PRM”, said the spokesperson and deputy president of the BECJ, Daniel Cristian Pîslaru.
