US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would only support a health care plan that “goes directly to the people” because insurance companies have been ripping off Americans for “long enough.”

“The only health care I will support or accept is sending money directly back to the people, with nothing going to the big, rich insurance companies that have made trillions of dollars and have been ripping off America for long enough,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
People will be able to negotiate and buy their own, much better insurance. Power to the people! “Congress, don't waste your time or energy on anything else,” wrote Trump, who has long demanded an end to “Obamacare,” the health care reform bill passed under President Barack Obama.
The opposition blocked the adoption of the new budget for over 40 days because it demanded the restoration of health insurance subsidies under the “Obamacare” system, which will expire soon. The forecasts cited by Democrats suggest that without subsidies, insurance premiums could more than double for millions of Americans.

However, a group of Democrats agreed to a compromise with Republicans, which allowed the shutdown to end and government funding to be extended until the end of January. As part of the agreement, it was agreed that a vote on the restoration of health insurance subsidies would be held before the end of the year, but it was not guaranteed that such subsidies would be available.
