The key question about Russia. What will we do then?

Logically speaking, the next step should be to downgrade diplomatic relations or break them off completely. The problem is that neither one nor the other is profitable for Poland.
We need a Polish ambassador in Moscow primarily to monitor there, for example, the American-Russian, German-Russian or French-Russian dialogue. Let us make it clear that this monitoring does not only mean contacts with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who will not inform us about anything, but also with the ambassadors of the United States, Germany or France.
We need an ambassador in Moscow also because Krzysztof Krajewski, who works there, travels around Russia very actively and at the risk of his own safety, visiting Poles living there and acting as a kind of mobile consul.

Regardless of the above, the question remains what to do, given that we are in a state of de facto undeclared war with Russia. Even though Russia is a fascist, bandit and terrorist state, it will remain our neighbor and will neither disappear from the world map nor be drawn into some black hole. It will not collapse either, despite the phantasmagorias of some Polish observers who are completely detached from reality.
The freezing of relations, not only political, but now also diplomatic, must be accompanied by opening up to those people of Russian culture who opposed the war and Vladimir Putin. Those who, sometimes paying a high price, maintain their dignity today.
In five, ten, 20 or 30 years we will have to talk to the Russians again. It would be good if we did not start from scratch, but above all, we did not start from a lower level than our allies from the European Union and NATO.
If this were to happen, after some time no one in the West will listen to us again when we talk about Russia. A country that has no relations with another country is simply not listened to in diplomacy. And such a country is certainly not considered an expert on a given country.
