Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, announced the concrete measures he took after discovering serious irregularities in the selection procedures of six state-owned companies and said that he sent to the General Secretariat of the Government a series of proposals to improve the legal framework under which these selections are made, so that abuses are not found.

After the minister's control body checked six state -owned companies, and SA, Craiova aircraft, Naval SA, IPROCHIM SA and National Company of Copper, Gold and Iron “Minvest” SA, it was found that all the procedures for selection of the members of the board of directors were vitiated.
“They were vitiated by a procedure built for 8 years, by which the ministry employees showed their competence only in personal interest, during which time the interests of these state companies were trampled. I discovered illegal orders, appointments and administrative acts intentionally made on the basis of expired laws, precisely to implant some people,” said Radu Miruță.

Two persons from the management of the Directorate Administration of State Participations will be disciplined for the irregularities found so far by the Minister's Control Body. In addition, under the conditions in which irregularities were discovered in all verified state companies, and the problems have a criminal dimension, the minister ordered the extension of the control to all the state companies subordinated to the Ministry of Economy. At the end of it, the General Prosecutor's Office will be notified both with the criminal facts discovered in the first phase of the control and with the possible new facts.
“It is important to mention that this is only the first phase. We do not stop here, I know that it is sting, I know that many are called, who is the political responsible since then. I am not interested. On my tour, but such things are not tolerated in the Ministry of Economy, I am not accepted. I do not look back, I look at what we can do next.”added Radu Miruță.
The USR Minister of the Economy says that, in order not to repeat irregularities such as the ones discovered, the current legal framework must be modified.
“I saw that SGG has put into transparency a proposal to modify GEO 109/2011. I tell you, very assumed, the proposals there are in the eye, the advanced form does not solve the problems. So, I sent the SGG the proposals of the Ministry of Economy of GEO 109/2011. It is about the extension of the performance criteria, as well as to an evaluation, but also to an assessment, of the administration and for the companies in which the appointments were concluded, because the SGG proposal concerns only the following appointments.”, Stated Radu Miruță.
Another proposal advanced by the Ministry of Economy assumes that for strategic companies, as defined in the law, the evaluation of the leaders should be done by an independent commission, appointed by the prime minister:
“The evaluation carried out by the Commission would be sent to the specialized committees in the Parliament, so that there was a real debate.”
The Minister of Economy also proposed clarifying the procedure for canceling the selections if vices are observed.
Radu Miruță also emphasized the opening of the Ministry of Economy to the Romanian professionals. In this regard, a button was displayed on the Home Page Page with which the persons who want to enroll in the selection procedures for the management of state companies or for the special administrator of the companies in insolvency could be displayed.
“I know there is no confidence, that people have participated in the selections and have been humiliated. I will personally occupy, in addition to other issues, to have fairness from now on. In order for Romania to advance, good people have to take a step in front, and politics must guarantee that they do not diminish their quality through political combinations”, Stressed Radu Miruță.
Cătălin Prunariu will take over Romaero as a special administrator
The Minister of Economy gave the example of Romaero, who will be taken over by Cătălin Prunariu, as a special administrator. The company is bankrupt, but it is likely to be saved if it is run by a competent person, who follows the interests of the Romanian state and does not want to bury it knowingly.
Radu Miruță said that he was ordered to create a mechanism and an e-mail address ([email protected]) to which those who want to notice irregularities from the Ministry of Economy can. The irregularities will be analyzed by the minister's control body and, depending on the situation, the necessary checks will be triggered.
