On Wednesday, Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty signed an order banning the sale of alcoholic beverages in buildings and areas managed by the Chancellery of the Sejm. He also announced changes regarding the so-called kilometers.


Ban on selling alcohol in the Sejm
– It is difficult to inform the public about the need to ban (alcohol sales) at gas stations, about the need to ban the sale of alcohol at night, without setting an example from the Sejm, i.e. from the people who will pass such a law – the Marshal explained his decision at a press conference. – I believe that we, as a state institution, should set an example, which is why I signed this order – added Czarzasty.
He also informed that the signed order would enter into force on Monday, November 24. – Why not from today? Because you need to manage the resources that are currently in the restaurant, change all entries and all information – he explained.

Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced on Wednesday that he had signed an ordinance regarding changes to parliamentary mileage allowances, which will enter into force on January 1, 2026. He added that he did not suspect any MPs of abuse, but society has the right to transparency and fair rules.
Czarzasty said on Wednesday that he does not agree that anything regarding MPs' mileage should be opaque in the public opinion. He emphasized that each MP has the potential to spend PLN 3,000. PLN per month for mileage. – People have questions about what this money was definitely intended for – he added. He announced the signing of an ordinance regarding changes in mileage records, which will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
– I do not suspect any MP, including myself, of anything, but I believe that Polish society has the right to transparency. He has the right to ensure that after the introduction of this ordinance, society is convinced that these are very fair rules – said Czarzasty. (PAP)
