Andrei Nicolescu, the president of Dinamo, had a telephone intervention on Wednesday evening, in which he spoke about the Romanian national team. The “Tricolori” are preparing for the World Cup qualifier in March, where they will meet one of Italy, Turkey, Denmark or Ukraine.
He did not name an opponent when asked what he would like. Present in the studio, Gică Craioveanu stated that Italy seems to him the most accessible.
Instead, he said that two Dynamo players could make the team of the “tricolors” for the play-off matches. It is about Cătălin Cîrjan (22 years old) and Raul Opruț (27 years old). And apart from them, he also offered a surprise name: central midfielder Andrei Mărginean (24 years old).

Andrei Mărginean took his first steps in football at CS Zlatna. In 2018, he was bought by Sassuolo for 25,000 euros. He didn't get to make his debut for the Italian senior team, he played only for the youth team.
The 1.90m midfielder has also played on loan for Ternana, Novara and Messina. He signed with Dinamo in the summer of 2024.
