The US Department of State on Tuesday approved the sale of Patriot system equipment to Ukraine, the Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) reported. The transaction is expected to be worth up to USD 105 million.

As stated in the DSCA statement, Ukraine has requested the purchase of maintenance services, equipment and spare parts for the Patriots, including an improved version of the M901 launcher for the M903 model. The estimated cost of the package is USD 105 million.
“The proposed sale will support U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives by improving partner nation securitywhich is a driving force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” the agency said in a statement.
Although the US has not enacted any additional military support package for Ukraine since President Donald Trump came to power, The Trump administration is selling weapons to NATO countries under the new PURL program (Priority Ukraine Requirements List). The sale of spare parts and service services for American weapons in the Ukrainian arsenal is also continued. The Department of State has previously approved similar transactions, including: other air defense systems, including NASAMS and HAWK, Paladin self-propelled howitzers, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and F-16 fighters.
Despite the promise made during the June NATO summit in The Hague, the US and allies have not yet delivered new Patiot systems to Ukraine. Trump then talked about 17 such systems that were to come from partner countries.
