New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was shot in Manhattan on Sunday morning, with media reporting that he is in critical but stable condition, Reuters notes.
A New York Police Department spokesman said a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he is in “critical but stable condition,” without officially confirming the victim's identity.
A police spokesman said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The New York Jets said they were “aware of the situation” and declined to comment further.
“I am praying for New York Jets player Kris Boyd and his loved ones,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams said in a message posted on social media.
The Jets signed Boyd in the offseason to special teams after his time with the Houston Texans. New York placed him on the disabled list in August. Boyd has not played a game this season.
