

According to him, the Ukrainians are fighting, among other things, in order to fulfill Orban’s desire – to avoid proximity to Russia. The ambassador is convinced: Russia cannot win this war, and if it is “pushed”, it will collapse – like the USSR in 1991.
The journalist reminded the ambassador how in 2023 he said that 73% of Hungarians would drink to the victory of Ukraine, and asked how he now estimates how many Hungarians would like a Ukrainian victory. The Ambassador replied that 97%.
Sandor said that such support is due to the fact that Hungarians are supposedly increasingly understanding that their comfort and security depend on Ukraine.
In his opinion, 78 Hungarians gave their lives for Ukraine, while there are no such losses in the Russian army, which is an “indicator” of deep support for Ukraine.
The ambassador hinted at political changes that, in his opinion, could come after the parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 12, noting that “fashion will change on April 13.”
