In Lutsk, after a veterans' match, an ex-football player of the Ukrainian national team died


“Metalist 1925” in grief. Yesterday, at the 55th year of his life, Andrei Viktorovich Polunin’s heart stopped beating. The tragic event occurred after the veterans’ match in Lutsk, in which he participated,” the statement said.

Polunin in the past played for Dnepr, Krivbass, Karpaty, CSKA, and also played in Germany for Nuremberg, St. Pauli and Rot Weiss.

He also has nine matches and one goal scored in the Ukrainian national team.

After completing his playing career, Polunin worked in different clubs in different positions, the FC emphasized. And from January 1st he was the chief scout of Metalist 1925.
