Pedophiles have started preying on children in the game Standoff 2. They promise to give gold for the skating rink, and in return they ask for nudes.
One of these cases occurred in the Sverdlovsk region. A local schoolgirl born in 2015 sat down after school to play her favorite toy. An unknown person burst into the chat with her – he offered to give her skins, received her phone number, and in the messenger asked her to send a couple of photos and videos 18+.
The girl did not fall for it and told her parents about everything. They went to the police and a criminal case was opened.
Previously, Standoff was actively used by scammers – recently there have been at least 6 cases when they ingratiated themselves into the trust of children and asked to transfer money from their parents’ cards. Minecraft fans are being scammed in a similar way – hackers distribute a program for collecting data under the guise of cheats.
