The PNL candidate for the Capital City Hall, Ciprian Ciucu, said on Thursday, on Europa FM, that Ilie Bolojan was asked for a seat because PSD and USR wanted the PNL not to propose Ciucu as a candidate for the General City Hall. The proposal would have been refused by Bolojan.
“We were asked for a seat, but I refused. Not me, Ilie Bolojan. Both PSD and USR wanted anyone from the PNL to run, but not Ciucu. And Mr. Bolojan, with the verticality we all know, told them: this is what brought us here. The games at the green table and the fact that we do not enter the competition with our best. And he refused,” said Ciprian Ciucu, quoted by News.ro.
He also said that the USR president, Dominic Fritz, accused him of colluding with the PSD.
“Well, how do you make a blat if you go in an electoral alliance with them? Where is the blat? When you go with them in an electoral alliance, it is assumed. Is that a blat? No, the blat is what his lordship proposed, that Ciucu not run. That's the blat. That's how I understand it in Romanian, I don't know, maybe Mr. Fritz understands it differently,” commented the PNL candidate.
The results of the latest poll for the elections in Bucharest: Băluță leads with 24%. At a short distance from him, two candidates come, almost evenly matched
In the same show, Ciprian Ciucu also accused his opponent from USR, Cătălin Drula, of starting a negative campaign against him.
“It bothers me what he says. It bothers me that he knows it's not true. He knows what the truth is. It bothers me that he started a negative campaign, he knowing the truth, I stopped the negative campaign against him. He doesn't assume it, I mean he doesn't say it, assumed, but they say all kinds of things that are not true. It bothers me, but, in the end, I hope that together we can get over this campaign and we can look at each other the other in the eyes”, Ciucu also affirmed.
Asked if he was more bothered by Cătălin Drula's accusations or Daniel Băluţă's attacks, Ciucu said: “Obviously, what Cătălin Drula says, when he is negative, bothers me, because he knows what the truth is. That bothers me, yes. What Daniel Băluţă says…and I had an absolutely decent relationship with Daniel Băluţă.”
