Kenyans are fighting on the side of Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms
In September, a rescue operation was carried out near Nairobi, during which 21 Kenyan citizens who were to be sent to the front were saved. During the operation, one person was also detained, suspected of involvement in the recruitment process. The ministry noted that recruiters misled Kenyans about the nature of their future duties – they argued that their tasks would be limited to assembling drones and not direct participation in the fighting.
The situation in Kenya is part of a broader problem that has drawn the attention of the Ukrainian authorities. They emphasize that African citizens, often struggling with economic difficulties, are becoming targets of recruitment efforts aimed at supporting the Russian armed forces in the ongoing conflict.
