Economists join forces and create a new Think Tank. Rectors: truth, cooperation and professionalism
At the Economic Forum in Karpacz, the rectors of five economic universities decided to join forces and establish a new Think Tank – Krue Insight, which is to serve analyzes and advice, and above all support the development of higher education, economic and digital transformation.

Shortly after signing the agreement, which includes all KRUE universities, i.e. the University of Economics in Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań and Katowice and the Warsaw School of Economics, in the outdoor studio “economic point of view”, together with prof. Piotr Wachowiak, rector of the SGH and prof. Marek Kośny, Vice -Rector for the Science of the Wrocław University of Economics, we talked briefly about the new Think Tank, his goals and plans for the future.
Aleksander Ogrodnik: Today, an important thing for Polish economics and Polish sciences, for economic universities, because you have united under the new Think Tank.
Prof. Piotr Wachowiak, SGH: Yes. And we are all very happy as rectors, because it will be a platform for discussion on the most important issues related to finance, the functioning of the university, with finances for research, as well as with economic matters.
Aleksander Ogrodnik: Let's say maybe about these finances for research. Well, since there are scientists with me and we are in the academic group, so the most important question is that, as I understand, you want to help in gaining financing for research. It is probably different …
Prof. Marek Kośnie, UEW: Help others in financing research, but also in guaranteeing financing research at universities, because in recent times, due to various types of economic circumstances, financing is not at a sufficient level. And we want to not expect such initiatives that the money will be without justification, but we want to give a specific justification why this money is the best money spent. This type of report, already a bit anticipating the creation of Krue Insight, was created among economic universities on the initiative of Krue, who showed how big the transfer of money we spend on science, also specifically for research related to economics, management – on how we function, what is the budget revenues.
Prof. Piotr Wachowiak, SGH: We will mainly be focused just as the rector says, on analysis, because we have a lot of specialists, competent people and we want these analyzes to be as objective, reliable, based on real data and made in accordance with applicable methods.
