“There are two more auctions until the end of the year, so our estimates at the moment are between PLN 15 billion and PLN 18 billion,” Bolesta said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bolesta was asked about the president's proposal to reduce electricity bills using ETS revenues.

“I am very pleased that the president admitted that the EU ETS is the tool with which we should work, because until now I have the impression that it was not clear,” the deputy head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection told journalists.

In his opinion, Poland is clearly a step further in the debate: to leave or not to leave the ECJ.

“In my opinion, this is the result of this debate, and we will see what happens next,” he added.

On November 7, President Karol Nawrocki submitted a project to the Sejm that is expected to reduce household electricity bills by 33%. The project includes a proposal to eliminate additional fees on the renewable energy, capacity, cogeneration and transition fee accounts, as well as a reduction in distribution costs and a permanent reduction to 5%. VAT rates for electricity.

At the same time, Nawrocki emphasized that the state budget will not lose by introducing these solutions, because Polish revenues from the EU ETS system will simply be redirected, which is consistent with the EU's climate policy. As he pointed out, from 2024, 100 percent. these funds should be used to finance the transformation. (PAP Business)
