Răzvan Zamfir, former head of the scouting department from CFR Clujwill take the step to the rival Cluj University. This is a character with multiple connections in domestic and international football
Răzvan Zamfir is the son of Iuliu Mureșan, the new and old president of Gruia. Zamfir's decision to leave the CFR displeased the CFR official. Now, he will perform the function of sporting director of the “Red Caps”. He will also handle mercato strategy, among other things.
“In principle, we agreed with Răzvan Zamfir. He will be the man who will lead the football department. In time, we will try to develop this part of the club, which is related to the sale of players, because Răzvan Zamfir did an extraordinary job at CFR Cluj during the 12 years he was there.
It's an important name and it's a move we're glad we were able to make. It takes time and I hope it will be ok on both sides”, said Radu Constantea, according to fanatik.ro.
Răzvan Zamfir was a key player at CFR Cluj
Zamfir's multiple connections in Romanian football, but also outside, especially in Portugal, were of great use to those from CFR Cluj in various periods of the group from Gruia.
In the past, he handled the transfers of important footballers to Gruia, such as Ricardo Cadu, Sebastian Dubarbier or Alvaro Perreira. More recently, he contributed to the arrivals of Răzvan Sava and Daniel Bîrligea at CFR, from Italy.
Even Gigi Becali mentioned it publicly many years ago, immediately after CFR Cluj defeated him and took the title in 2008. At that time, in the first championship won by Transylvania, Zamfir made an important contribution.

Razvan Zamfir
Răzvan Zamfir and CFR Cluj were accused by Gigi Becali for the 2008 title, the first in the club's history: “CFR won the title now, how it was won doesn't matter anymore. All DNA had to do was follow Zamfir from CFR. My impression is that they took him there to buy matches!”
I leave CFR Cluj with a heavy heart, which will always remain my home. Thank you all for your cooperation, I have worked here for over 12 years, it is a fantastic club and my colleagues here are completely and utterly special.
– Razvan Zamfir
