Tottenham are working on the transfer of Andy Robertson (31), one of the most important players in Liverpool's modern history.

Andrew “Andy” Robertson is an Anfield legend: bought in 2017 from Hull City, he played 363 games, scored 12 goals, provided 68 assists and contributed to a great collective success, winning 9 trophies as a “cormorant”.

Considered a few years ago to be among the best left-backs in the world, Robertson has fallen into the background at Liverpool, with the left flank now controlled by Hungarian Milos Kerkez.

Entering the final 6 months of his contract, 'Robbo' is free to negotiate with any club. Tottenham does not want to waste time and has sat down at the discussion table with the footballer's representatives, in an attempt to strengthen the squad available to Thomas Frank.

The transfer is not yet done, but “negotiations are progressing”writes David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Tottenham's original idea was to bring Robertson in the summer when his contract with Liverpool is due to expire, but the parties are now negotiating an immediate transfer, which could also involve paying compensation for the English champions.

Scotland captain Robertson wants minutes on the pitch so he can be at his best in the summer when the Scots take part in their first World Cup after a 28-year absence.
