The head of the village council in the Taseevsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was held accountable for the annual flooding of the village. The regional prosecutor's office reported this.

The supervisory agency clarified that residents of the village of Khandala are suffering from flooding. Every year, streets, residential buildings and outbuildings are drowned by meltwater, and people lose food supplies, property becomes unusable, and their lives and health are at risk.

In 2023, the village council administration submitted an application to participate in the competitive selection of initiative projects to eliminate the problem. The municipality was allocated 1 million rubles from the regional budget. For this money, reinforced concrete pipes were to be installed in the village for the passage of waste and melt water.

“However, the funds were not used – the administration did not ensure the implementation of the project, and the subsidy received was returned to the regional budget. At the same time, the issue of the safety of residents and the safety of their homes still remains unresolved. Later, the pipes were purchased at the expense of the municipality, but were not sold,” the regional prosecutor’s office said.

Based on this fact, the head of the settlement, by order of the prosecutor, was brought to administrative responsibility for violating the conditions for the provision of interbudgetary transfers (Part 3 of Art. 15.3 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

Currently, the supervisory agency continues to monitor the elimination of violations and the adoption of effective measures to ensure the safety of village residents.
